Maroc Entrepreneurs Londres : Création du Club London Finance

L'orientation massive des jeunes talents marocains vers les métiers de la finance demeure assurément l'un des phénomènes marquants des dernières années. Capitale européenne de la finance, Londres s'est logiquement imposée comme destination favorite de Marocains hautement qualifiés, désireux de faire carrière dans la finance de haut niveau. En effet, c'est au sein du quartier de La City, digne rival du Wall Street New-yorkais, que se trouvent les sièges européens des plus grandes banques d'affaires et sociétés de gestion.

La création de ce club est le fruit d'un double constat : si l'on peut se féliciter du nombre croissant de financiers marocains opérant à Londres, il faut également déplorer le manque d'échanges et d'interaction entre les membres de cette communauté. C'est dans l'objectif de pallier cette carence et de dresser des ponts solides entre financiers marocains de Londres que Maroc Entrepreneurs a très récemment lancé le Club London Finance.

Cette initiative marque la première étape de l'élargissement à l'international de l'association.

London : Conference with Hassan Abouyoub, Ambassador-at-Large

 Minister, Ambassador, Chief Trade Negotiator, Member of the Parliament, former contender for the Presidency of the WTO…Hassan Abouyoub is one of those political figures who simply do not need an introduction.

After graduating from EM LYON Business School in the mid-seventies, Mr Abouyoub joined the Moroccan ministry of Trade, Industry and Mining. In 1980, he was appointed Director of the Moroccan Foreign Trade department, where he implemented the government's trade policy in terms of regulation, trade agreement negotiations and exports support programs.

He was instrumental in granting Morocco an access to the GATT. Beginning 1986, he partook in the Uruguay Round negotiations. From 1990 to 1993, Hassan Abouyoub has been successively minister of Foreign Trade, Foreign Investments and Tourism. Mr Abouyoub was then appointed the King's Ambassador in Saudi Arabia in 1994, before returning to the government in 1995 as minister of Agriculture. Mr Abouyoub went on to become successively the King's Ambassador in France in 1999 before being appointed Ambassador-at-large in 2006.

Hassan Abouyoub is an internationally renowned expert in international affairs and trade issues. After what has been quite an eventful year, to say the least, we were glad to share the insights of one of the most experienced and esteemed Moroccan statesmen.

London : Success Story Cocktail dinner with Amine Bel hadj Soulami, Global Head Commodity Derivatives BNP Paribas - Named by Financial News one of 20 most influential Europeans in US

After graduating from Ecole Polytechnique, Amine Belhadj joined the BNP Paribas group in 1987. Over the last 20 years, Amine has been working within departments of the Investment Bank which require the highest mathematical and financial skills. The 45-year-old top executive began his financial career as a Trader. Amine went on to become Head of European Equity Derivatives Trading (1997-1999, based in London), Deputy Global Head of Equity Derivatives (1990-2004, based in Paris) and Head of Equities & Derivatives for the Americas (2004-2006). Amine was recently appointed Global Head of Commodity Derivatives.

Amine has enjoyed a stellar career, operating in the most important Derivatives marketplaces such as Tokyo, London, Paris and New York. In 2005, he was named by Financial News one of 20 most influential Europeans in America. Such recognition reflects Amine's international stature, which he owes to his outstanding achievements, his great innovativeness and his excellent relationship skills.
